IBT Zarasai Open Info

Short description:

Zarasai is a beautiful town located in North East Lithuania, 3 km from the border with Latvia. Zarasai is located between 7 lakes on marvelous mounds raising the city above the waters. That’s why Zarasai town is called a City of Lakes. There are many spectacular pine woods in Gražutė regional park (next to Zarasai), famous for mushrooms. People can enjoy the wild nature, included into list of objects that were the least affected by human force.
In Zarasai there are many interesting places to visit. The most famous are Great island on Zarasai lake, Zarasai Museum, the famous Stelmužė oak which is the oldest tree in Lithuania (approximately 1500 years old), Energetics Museum, a brewery, the largest lake in Lithuania Drūkšiai, the wind mill and many others.

Zarasai Open will be held on Nedožinka disc golf course (~9 km North-West from Zarasai), the oldest course not only in Lithuania but all the Baltics established in 2003. Since then the course has developed from small OB free 9 hole park into 18 hole course and this year is coming with more changes to make it even more challenging. Nedožinka course is a real legend - it is the only course that has been played in all 8 seasons of Baltic Sea Tour and has been home of Lithuanian national championships since its beginning in 2011.
